Whiting & Davis Gold Mesh Drawstring Evening Bag, 1940s Vintage

A vintage 1940s Whiting & Davis gold tone mesh drawstring style bucket bag. The bag gathers at the top and hangs from a delicate double chain handle, lined inside in aged peach satin. Feels very Studio 54. The perfect summer night-out bag. 

The interior tag reads Whiting & Davis Co. Bags, Made in U.S.A. It measures about 8.5 inches across the opening, around 7.5 inches long, with about a 2.5 inch chain drop, the perfect little hand carry for evening. Shows some honest age, a bit of softening and flattening to the mesh and light wear to the satin lining.
